Alan Ross, who founded the Grey Workforce, retired from a career in IT after qualifying as an Engineer at the City University, London.
Having heard from his acquaintances that it is such a hit-and-miss affair finding mature, reliable and skilled trades persons who are properly insured and have been cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau, Alan decided to try to put a team together to meet these criteria.
In 2002, Alan dropped leaflets in three roads in St Albans and this attracted enough work to keep his business going continuously for three years. In August 2004, Alan launched the Grey Workforce Limited and today the business continues to grow.
