- have a friendly and willing disposition and are clean and presentable
- have spent a lifetime undertaking and successfully completing ‘do-it-yourself’ projects or have satisfactorily completed formal training in relevant skills and are multi-skilled in practical activities
- are trustworthy and thus would be willing to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau assessment
- have or are willing to get, public liability insurance of up to £2 million that covers all the activities that they will undertake on behalf of the Grey Workforce
- are willing to have their work reviewed in order that constructive advice may be given to improve all aspects of customer service
- are capable of working on their own through estimating to final completion and sign off.
- have access to and are capable of using the Internet (with training if necessary)
- have a reliable vehicle to carry appropriate tools and materials to the customer’s premises
